I purchased FX5600XT a few days ago. Installing and everything went
flawlessly but somewhat I'm not satisfied. Even tho, I used to run a pretty
shitty video card before (maybe I'm expecting too much now) I still feel
that it can go for more!

Plus, I'm little pissed off at the company I bought the card from, too. They
advertised it as a *FX5600* card ($145) but when I received it, it turned
out to be an *FX5600XT*. I NewEgg-ed the XT card and the price there was
$114-120 and STILL $150 for the 5600. Probably, it doesn't matter but I'm
pissed anyway.

So, I'm thinking about returning the FX5600XT and getting 9600 Pro since
they are at about the same price. What do you say? Should I go for it or
it's better if I stick with the 5600. Thanks.

P.S. Any other recommendations in the "$130-$160 Range" would be
appreciated.

Exactly the same thing happened to me last weekend. I bought an "FX5600" but
found out that it was an XT model when I took it home. The XTs suck - big
time. I took it back (since the receipt stated that it was a 5600) and paid
a little more for a Radeon 9600 Pro. What a difference! The 9600 Pro
provided the performance that I hoped the FX5600 would provide. So -
definitely - go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Return the 5600XT and get the 9600pro. Unlike ATI's XT's Nvidia's are
actually lesser cards than the mainstream original version.

Thanks. I'll probably send it back. :)

WHAT ARE YOU USING IT FOR???!!!!

Dude, calm down. There's no need to shout. I use the card mainly for games.
I was disappointed when most of my games were still kind of struggling at
high resolution.

heh that was a caplock hiccup sent before I looked.... anyway....I never assume your a game user cause everybody isn't.. the XT
thing is (purposely?) confusing as Nvid XT's are 'lesser' where ATI's are more....it will probably come down to actual specs. I'll
bet the ATI wins that round.

5600 = shit card.... 5600XT can be twice as bad. Slower than some
5200s.

$145 is a bit on the mid-high price for a 5600... way over price over
the XT... ya got ripped.

You took it in the ass. Threaten to get them with credit card charge
back, and fraud.... what company?

ATi9600Pro - a lot faster.

I already contacted them thru e-mail, they said that it's not a problem to
return the card within 30-days after receiving it (it was stated in the
warranty) and that I'll get a full refund. The company is StreamlinePC.com.
I bought the card from eBay.

I'm considering 9600 Pro, 9600 XT, 9800... I'll have to decide!

Fastest you can afford.... 9800 is faster than the 9600xt.

Newegg had the BFG genuine-FX5900/128 Meg (non-XT, -SE,-SP)
400GPU/850Mem for $175 with free Fedex saver shipping, but they sold
out late Saturday evening.. You can request an auto email alert from
Newegg if/when they ever get them in again, hopefully at that price. A
real steal while it lasted....
