Future of IE hosted .NET controls

Could anybody tell me whether the recent Eolas announcement
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/?url=/workshop/author/dhtml/overview/activating_activex.asp) will affect .NET hosted controls also?

It should. Hosted controls use the object tag when run in a web page. The
object tag is affected by this change.
