Hi All,
This might not be the correct forum for this question, but some one may be
able to answer it. Has anybody any idea (in £'s) how much Windows Vista will
cost. I specifically would be looking at the 64bit, Home Premium or Home
Basic.

Thanks,
Gary.

This shows US prices and not UK prices. UK prices are normally higher than
U.S. suggested prices. This will be announced later.

Hi Both,
then going on $239 dollars that would be about £128 for a new build. I
assume an upgrade from XP Home 32bit to Windows Vista 64bit, will not be
available?
Thanks,
Gary.

Gary;
What you see in your local store for Windows XP now will probably be very
close to Vista when released.

There will not be any upgrade path from 32 bit to 64 bit or vice versa.
Also, since 64 bit will probably be OEM only, there will not be an upgrade
option for 64 bit.
OEM are intended for new computers and typically do not have an upgrade
option.

No, this is not true because of higher VAT rates in E.U. countries along
with other fees. An easy rule of thumb would be to simply change the direct
price in dollars to pounds. However, if the prices were to mimic U.S. prices
that would be a nice surprise for Europeans.

Hi Both, in that case the UK price will be nearly double !!!!!! the US price.
Makes you think why not buy from the US via the internet....

Thanks,

Gary.
