funny things with my screen

There are some funny things happening to my screen with I
am on or off line.....You name it, everything keeps
poping up on the screen. I'm thinking something mught be
wrong with my mouse, but not sure. Does anyone have any
suggestions for me? I have someone who can work on my
computer if need be. Do you think it might be some kind
of virus???? Any help would be nice.

Update your antivirus program + do a full system scan. Also download, update
+ run both ad-aware and Spybot. That would be a start.

What kind of things are popping up? Programs, files, websites,
advertisements? It's possible there's a virus but there are other possible
explanations: sticky mouse button, stuck keys on keyboard, etc.

Whenever you suspect a virus, scanning with an antivirus program that has
current virus definitions is a good thing to do.

Adware could continually pop up web pages -- use something like AdAware
(www.lavasoftusa.com) to find and remove these intruders.
