funny microsoft updates

Have a couple of strange folders on my extra harddrives
that say they are microsoft updates.
But they are not accessable in the CONTROL PANEL - ADD &
REMOVE SOFTWARE. One has a setup program attached -
(xpsp1hfm)Windows XP SP1 Service Pack Hotfix Migration
Tool
Folders are numbered 1251c713726315456c9d8a
& 508c74abe5927519f5e8c7979
How do I check if they are viruses

I believe that they are temp folders for sp1 I have them
