I'm using Access97. For several users, the following error
happens when they try to run one of our queries:

Function isn't available in expressions in query
expression 'Format([tblWorkTime]![TI_Date],"dddd")'.

Most users have no problem running this query, only a few
get the error above. As far as I can tell, everyone is
using the same version of Access; I've even gone so far as
to reload Access on one user's PC, but they continue to
get the same error.

Any ideas?

The machine may have a missing reference.
Open any module in Design view.
On the Tools menu, click References.
Click to clear the check box for the type library or object library
marked as "Missing:."

An alternative to removing the reference is to restore the referenced
file to the path specified in the References dialog box. If the
referenced file is in a new location, clear the "Missing:" reference
and create a new reference to the file in its new folder.

See Microsoft KnowledgeBase articles:

Microsoft Access'

the correct ones needed,

how to reset a missing one.
