I have text in a merged cell. I'd like to use the "+"
function to put the same text in another cell, but this
gives me an error.

i.e. In cell B6, I put +M7 and get the same value

If I do this with a merged cell, I either get *Value* or
the number 0.

Any ideas, or is this a fundamental problem with merged
cells?

Hi
you may simply use the formula
=M7
if M7 is the address of the merged cell. Don't use the '+' operator for
this

Hi Frank...I tried that, but it returns "0" .

I've tried changing the format from general to text and
still doesn't work.

FYI...Using Excel 2000

Hi
is M7 really the cell address of the merged cell? Merged cells are
referenced by the upper left cell.

note: another reason not to use merged cells :-)

Yes...I've been using the upper left cell.

I didn't want to use merged cells, but I'm using creating
a form, so its necessary.
