=sum(column label) do works in the respective sheet.
How to perform this =sum(sheet2!column label)
suppose i have a colum named Jan in Sheet1. Sum(Jan) works in Sheet1. I
want the SUM in sheet2 i.e., SUM(sheet1!Jan)
Thanks to you all

Hi Sridhar,

What you use is called "Natural Language formulas" enabled by "Accept labels in formulas"

This feature only works on the same sheet. It is not recommended anyway and has been removed in Excel 2007.
Use explicitly defined names instead: Insert>Name>Define. No use for sheet qualifiers, but they can still be used (although they
are tricky and also not recommended!)
