i had the full version of frontpage on my old pc. i upgraded to fp 2002 and
this is the only pc I can still locate. since the old pc is now dead, i
cannot load the 2002 upgrade to my new pc because it is looking for the full
version. is there a way that i can avoid having to purchase the full version
of 2003? Thanks!

Do you still have the "old version" install disk??

You shouldn't need the full version of the old version installed. You
just need the CD of the old version for proof you purhased a qualfying
ptroduct.

Start the install the new "upgrade version" and when you are asked for
the location of the old version insert the CD for the old version to
confirm qualified prodict. You then switch back to the install of the
upgrade version.

I had the impression that the OP can't find that disk and that was the point
of the question. But it wouldn't be the first time I'd misread a post.

If the 'old' version is not installed when you get the message that the
'old' version can not be found there should be an option to 'browse' to the
FP files. At that point you eject the upgrade cd and put in the older
version cd (or floppy if it is really old - but you don't need to eject the
cd in that case) and use the browse button to point the checker to the
install disk of the qualifying version.

Once the FP installer recognizes the older version you can remove the old
disk, replace with the one you want to install and complete the
installation.
