Full stop instead of contact email being inserted

Anyone had a problem where they get a full stop inserted to a mail instead of the contact email address? Everytime I try to insert a contact into a mail I get this instead of their normal mail address. My Pc appears to be virus free and I have all the latest patches.
 
Define what you mean by "full stop." Specify the method used for inserting
the address and your Outlook version.

"full stop" = a period (.) in U.K. speak.
