Hey.

I'm playing Colin McRae Rally 2 on my Windows XP laptop and while I'm
playing it every couple of minutes or so it stops. It runs in full screen
mode, but it often loses focus and minimizes itself down.

Here's a picture of what it looks like while froze, I'd like to know how to
stop this happening.

Help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Will

Probably some other application that does something in that interval.

YOU will need to do some detective work to resolve the problem.

On Windows XP you could use the Task Manager's "Processes" tab to see
what your system is doing, although you might need to do searches
through a service like Google or Ask to identify the listed files. Your
screen shot's title bar doesn't look like the Windows XP standard, so
I'm not sure you aren't running some other Windows version.

Check things like screen savers, power management functions, mail
client's and instant messengers check for new messages, or security
software checks for new definitions to see if any are set for an
interval at or near the interval the program is getting minimized at.

You might make NUMEROUS tries shutting down one process at a time to see
which one is causing the problem (game doesn't minimize when the process
is stopped).

Stop as many other processes as is prudent when running demanding
entertainment software. IF you don't need to interact with other players
in a multi-player game even shut down security software like anti-virus
and third party fire walls but shut down your Internet connection by
your modem or router's "off line", "standby", "power" or similar button
OR disconnecting the wire (also applies to dial up modem).

Ok thanks very much for the help. The title bar is just a theme I'm using
make my computer look like Vista because I can't afford it haha

I'll check out the processes, see what's wanting my computers attention.

Thanks again.
