full or write protected

There are programs that I think have been loaded on to my
computer by the internet that i cannot delete. They tell
my to check if the program is full or write protected.
How do i find out and disable the protection.
 
I think that they were loaded without my knowledge. I
have programs that were loaded today that I have not
loaded. I assume they come with all these cookies. At one
time my daughter used KaZa which I have since deleted. I
was told that when she accepted the download without
reading the disclosure she accepted KaZa planting
programson to my harddrive. I have been fighting a losing
battle since then. I am sure my children have gottten on
game websites and such that load on programs. I am trying
to clean that all up. It bothers me that I can't just
delete a file or program. I just didn't know what this
full or write-protected was and how to get around it.
