Windows 2000 Server; SP4; all updates/patches have been installed.
The board (MS-9101, or E7500 Master-LS) recognizes the RAM I installed (2GB,
matched pair of 1GB chips). It sees the full amount. However, Windows does
not. Either in Task Manager or in msinfo, the only amount that is displayed
as available physical memory is 261,??? K (the ??? is the last 3 numerals of
the RAM displayed, my notes are blurred).
I know that recognition of the full amount of memory in Windows 2000 Server
is a known issue, but only in Advanced or Pro, and only then if the amount in
question is over 4GB.
The system performs like it has the correct amount installed, but since the
incorrect amount is reported the system "runs out" (according to system
messsages) of available physical memory.
Any ideas?
