dear fuji experts---I would like to buy a scanner in the fi-5650c
class---$4,470 on newegg, plus another $340 for a 3-year warranty.
I have no urgency to buy the scanner asap, though. Is there a
standard release cycle of new products at fuji that I could/should
wait for? Or an upcoming trade show where fuji tends to announce new
products? Any other news sources? I would hate to find out in 3
months that they have come out with a scanner that is faster for the
same price.
If someone has their ear, it would be good to point out to them that
one would think that fuji would offer a better warranty for something
that they claim to be the most robust scanner around. They obviously
don't have too much faith in their product, or they would distinguish
themselves from the competition in this way. (alas, in the $5k class,
I don't think anything can compete on speed.)
Fuji could also bundle better software with a $4,500 scanner. adobe
acrobat is not the best OCR program around.
