Well, amazing is it not? Fuel duty is to go DOWN a penny. This has got to be a first.

That second comic is hilarious. Here in Boston I just payed $3.37 for Reg. Gas. Everywhere else was $3.49. sighhhh!

Dude, be happy you live there. South Florida = $3.80+ I have seen almost $4/gal and hanging steady. We are told it will go over $4 by summer for sure.

If my maths is correct, we pay around $8.31 for a US Gallon of petrol here in the UK :eek::eek:

£1.35 / litre * 3.8 (convert to US gallons) * 1.62 (exchange rate)

I was going to ask what the price was over there. People would be setting things on fire in the streets here if they paid that much. My drive to work is about 12 miles. Some people are upwards of 50-75 miles to work. Our transportation system around here is complete garbage. Very poor designs.

I work in the Yachting Industry. I work on boats that handle large amounts of fuel. The biggest fuel capacity I have seen recently is 55,000USG.

Fill 'er up!

around £1.50 a litre for vpower diesel! cost me around £70 to 3/4 fill me car. I remember when diesel was cheaper than petrol, wernt that long ago.

When i first had motorbike i could do a whole week to college & back for £2.40 of 4star.:o
Now i spend about £30 a week to get to work & back and more if i go to another location.:(

:DI can remember when I could fill my second hand a 1946 rover 60 it had the new side and overhead engine 1600cc engine, beautiful car and it cost £5 to fill the tank. I remember I couldn't afford the new tyres so sold it to a collector for £15 and that was in 1967, oh those were the days, and I made a fiver on the deal I only payed £10 for it in 1966:thumb:. I think petrol was like 1/9 or 2/6 a gallon in those days.

It was only five or six years ago petrol was 70-odd pence a litre.

Product only costs 40p. I think about 85p is tax (duty and vat) and then 5p goes to the retailer.

200%+ tax on petrol these days, disgrace.
