I recently had some trouble with a hijacker and had to
fix somethings in my registry. However now when I have
IE6 open and type and address in - say www.google.com -
it directs me to a ftp instead of a http. I now have to
type in the http to get to a site otherwise i get
directed to an ftp that I dont have access to.
Any suggestions?

hi Joe,

try out the following steps and tell me the results:
Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Browsing, click to uncheck the Enable folder view for FTP sites check
box.
Click to select the Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem
compatibility) check box.
Click OK.

all the best
