ftp versus http

godaddy is hosting my page with FP extensions and as far as I can tell they
only offer ftp to update my files on their server.

I am trying to use the guestbook template from FP and I am getting the
"_derived/nortbots.htm" error message. A previous posting here said that
uploading the guestbook.htm using ftp will screw it up. What do I need to do?
 
You need to apply the FP extensions or have GoDaddy enable them for your account, then you need to
open your local site and use File Menu | Publish Site and enter the path like:
http://www.yourdomainname.com
