Hello to everybody,

like the subject I need to enlarge the filesize of FTP on my windows xp in
order to get binary files through ftp command without receiving the error
"File too large..."
Thanks a lot to everybody replying to me.

Regards
Ross

Hi Ross,

Will be glad to help but need more info. You say you are using FTP thorugh XP. Is the XP
Home version or Pro version? Are you using FTP in IE or at a command line? What size file
are you having a problem with? Do smaller size files work ok? How are you connected to the
point where you are uploading(?) or downloading(?) the files? Do you go through a
router/switch/firewall/cable - dsl- adsl modem?

Can you copy large files through other means through the same path as you are trying to do
with the ftp?

With the above info, maybe I can suggest something that might help you. Normally the
restriction on file size is with hardware, such as routers, etc. or a limitation on the ftp server not
allowng more than a certain number of bytes to be transferred at one time.

Thanks,
Gary
