Is there a FTP site with post sp1 patches for Windows XP? I'm interested in
downloading and burning them to CD for several of my users with VERY slow
internet connections.

Thanks

James

You do not need an FTP site - just use the Windows Catalog to download the
updates form WindowsUpadte.microsoft.com.
You need to enable the Catalog first under the Personalize option on Windows
Update

Since you were so helpful with the last question lets try one more. I've
downloaded all the updates using the Windows update Basket and burned the
updates to a CD. Is there a way to get Auto update service to point to the
CD for updates or will the user have to install each update separately from
the CD?

Thanks again

James

James,

The Windows Update features in Windows XP can either be pointed at the
external Microsoft Windows Update site or at a local Microsoft Software
Update Server (MSUS). MSUS is a free product that sits on a local Windows
2000 or 2003 Server and your clients get the updates from there.
If you have all the updates on a single CD you will have to install them all
yourself.
You can write a script to possibly chain them all together, but this may
issues with updates that must updates files that are in use and thus demand
a reboot and then a later update is required to update that file again.
