Answered in another newsgroup. Please do not send the same message
separately to more than one newsgroup (called multiposting). Doing so
just fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup
doesn't get to see answers from others in another newsgroup. And for
those who read all the newsgroups the message is multiposted to, they
see the message multiple times instead of once (they would see it only
once if you correctly crossposted instead). This wastes everyone's
time, and gets you poorer help than you should get.

If you must send the same message to more than one newsgroup, please
do so by crossposting -- sending a single message simultaneously to
multiple newsgroups (but only to a *few* related newsgroups).

Filezilla.

Please heed Mr. Blake's advice about crossposting. The way you did it
this time creates more work for the people who would help you.

Filezilla.

That would be an FTP client, wouldn't it? He wants a server.

Why? Because they have to read an extra post? Because one conversation
out of 100K per day doesn't get shared across groups? You folks really
need to get over this infatuation with correcting multi-posts.

There is a Filezilla server, too. That's why I mentioned it.

No, because if someone answered his question in another group I won't
see it, therefore I will have wasted my valuable time by researching
and composing a redundant message. And nobody but the people in that
one group will be able to take advantage of the answer.

You need to think about why people think it's important. Multiposting
in a case like this is selfish. It creates needless busywork, and
prevents discussion and the sharing of knowledge.
