I'm running XP pro and want to somehow send the
grandparents video of my children. I currently have the
video I shot w/ my Sony handycam on my cumputers hard
drive. It looks like the video file is up to 1.4GB in
size.

Is there any way to do this?

Thanks,

Lee

get a dvd burner... it will take forever to send over the
net. if you dont want a dvd burner then use NERO , or
other, and burn a vcd/svcd.

goto to pricewatch.com for low priced dvd burners

I'm not that concerned about how long it will take to
send. At this point I'm just looking for options. And by
the way, I do have a DVD burner, but I would still like
to try the internet route (ie. web folder, ftp, etc)
Thanks, Lee

If XP Pro is similar to xp home right click "My Network Places" choose 'properties'
There should be two Icons, one for Internet Gateway, another for LAN or Highs Speed Internet, select the first one, I'net Gateway. Right Click 'Properties' select settings then under Services you should see an option for FTP. Click the box and then in your Router select port warding for 21 on the pc with the IP address that is serving.

That should resolve it. If not let me know or if you find another option let me know. I am learning all the time and if wrong i want to be aware i mis led someone

You can try thru windows based freeware 3cdeamon on web. it provides to built the ftp server on your pc and then you can create the
userID and passwod in the software itself and send it to other party. They will use the FTP command to connect your machine.
