I am using Win2K FTP server to give user access to FTP
over the internet. I created a a folder that can be shared
with PC and Mac clients and user can read and write on the
LAN. PC users can download and upload over the internet
without any problem. Mac users can read and download from
Win2K FTP server but cannot upload or write over the
internet. Should it be possible at all? Can anyone please
guide me on this?

thanks

This is a glaring problem with FTP in the Mac OS X Finder. No, it can
not upload. You'll need to use a third party application such as Fetch
or Interarchie or you can use the Terminal's CLI to FTP.

Hope this helps! bill

Thanks for you reply. I forgot to say that I am using OS
8.6. Is it the same constraint?

Hi Ted!

Sorry for the confusion.

Nothing in Mac OS 8.6 itself blocks the ability to upload via FTP. What
client are you using? Possibly your problem lies there.

The Network Browser should work as a suitable client for both uploads
and downloads. You would enter "ftp://address" when selecting "Connect
to Server".
