I have an ftp site setup at work for cross country
uploads and downloads everything worked fine for awhile.
Now select computers cannot access it anymore. We get an
error saying the folder cannot be opened. make sure you
have access to that folder blah blah blah. If I were to
set up a new machine and access it. It will work for
awhile and then go bad again. Please help my boss is on
me about this. By the way the site does not take
anonymous connections.

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

Are you referring to using IE's UI or FTP from a command line?
It seems there is a timing factor under the covers.
Take a trace. Then simulate what you see IE doing using the FTP
command line client. Note the interactions and especially the timing.
Then experiment with what else works at the command line
(e.g. especially try not using PASV). Then, with your knowledge
of what the server can handle try to make IE do something different
using the few options you have to control it (such as Enable Folder
View and Use Passive FTP...)

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

Good luck
