FTP Access Fails

I've got a few restricted users here running Win2K.
They seem to have problems accessing an FTP site
via Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer. Other
restricted users running XP Pro do not have this
problem.

Suggestions for a quick fix? (other than convert to XP,
don't have time to do that right now)

Thanks.

Jason,

Have port 21 been opened?

Explain in more detail please as you are very vague

Outgoing access is wide open, no ports blocked.

Not sure how much more detail I can give. We
have a client who setup an FTP site that we need
to access. Restricted users running Win2k can't
access the site, restricted XP users can, no trouble.

That is really all I know about it. Is there something
more specific I can provide?

Are they receiving any error messages?

Try a true ftp client (such as CuteFTP or WS_FTP). I've always found FTPing
problematic with IE

No error messages. We get a little flashlight rotating
on the screen that just sits there and does nothing. I
was hoping to stay away from extra software but if I
have to get something I will, or just slap on XP.

IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced >
Browsing > Use Passive FTP.....

Worked just fine.

Thanks for the suggestions.
