FTP access error

Regardless of the FTP site I try to go to, IE6 becomes non-responsive. I'm
running XP Home SP2. I've checked settings under Internet Options Advanced,
and I can't see anything unusual.

Appreciate any help

I was having the same problem. I turned off windows firewall, now it works
just fine.

Well, turn it back on... Open IE, click tools, options, advanced, and in the
option for passive ftp either check it or uncheck it. You probably want it
checked but if it's checked try unchecking it and trying again. Turning off
your firewall isn't really the best solution. PASV (or Passive) is used for
FTP when a firewall is in place.
