magazine review of an intel motherboard:

test config.......P4 3.06GHz with Hyper Threading Technology, 2 sticks of
256MB DDR333 RAM

same magazine review of an AMD motherboard:

test config......Athlon 64 3200+, 512MB DDR333 SDRAM

I'm confused. I thought you would need DDR 400 SDRAM to achieve 800MHz FSB?

No, the FSB and memory timings are different, although they CAN be the same.
The two frequencies are often related to each other in some manner, but more
flexible motherboard designs allow you to set the two frequencies
independently. Thus, you might have a 266FSB processor and run 333 RAM with
it. (or vice versa) -Dave
