When using Windows 98se to activate the ATC sound we had
to go through START-SETTINGS-CONTROL PANEL- ADD/REMOVE
PROGRAMS-WINDOWS SETUP-COMPONENTS- MULTIMEDIA-DETAILS AND
TICK AUDIO COMPRESSION BOX.
How do I find audio compression box in Windows XP? AS WE
CAN NOT FIND WINDOWS SETUP AS WE COULD IN 98SE
Many thanks

not sure what you need...but there is a "control panel" for XP
not unlike the Win98 one. Some settings in "add/remove"
program icon (then is windows options on side) but likely
the drivers are in the sound > hardware section/icon.

things like audio compression and video compression are
automatically installed in Windows XP, then if some custom
driver file for sound card use the drivers came with the card
or from the audio card manufacturers website. Also install
directx 9.0 and do the windows updates (in case new drivers).

This 'compressed sound' is MPEG sound, like MEG 2 Layer 3 (MP3) sound.
Support for mp3 and other compressed sound formats is natively present in
WinXP, and you don't have to activate it.

If you mean spatial soun (3d sound), then you're going to have to be more
specific about what your prob is! (game - what's fs2002? - what soundcard,
what speakers, ...)
