Hi Everyone,

I am sooo frustrated. I run a company on the net and I
can't send email.

I previously just used OE with no problems. Yesterdat I
upgraded my version of Office 2000 Pro to the SR1 service
pack.

Ever since I did that, I can't send email using OE or
Outlook. The server cannot be found. I use a plain old
dial up connection and just want to send email ... I don't
know anything about servers and all that.

I just want to connect to the internet using dialup and
send email. ;o)

Up until yesterday, it was the simplest thing on earth ...
now it can't be done.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Darla
OK, if your ISP (SBC, att, earthlink) is different then the company your using to for email services, you may have to change the SMTP server that outlook is pointing to. You may also have to change a setting under your outlook account setup. the "severs" tab, the "my server requires authentication" button may have to be checked. Then the "use same settings as incoming mail server" should be checked. although come setups will require you to choose the other option and enter your full email address and password as you would normally use. This get a little confusing without knowing a litle more info
-are you using the same method and ISP that you were using before the problem occured
-are you using the same mail provider
-is your ISP also the one who provides you mail
-has anything other then the switch from outlook express to outlook 2k that has changed
