Im not really sure where the best place is to ask this
question.
Last week the mirror broke on our FRS and over the weekend
it had to be recreated. Its all back and running now.
But there is one problem we cant fix. There are 2
machines (FS1 & FS2) 1 was the primary but had the
problems and 2 ended up as the primary server. Now it
seems that since a folder was missing on FS2, any time it
is put back in place the system deletes it off of FS1.
Whats going on?

FRS replicates file changes based on events, not on state, so it seems very
odd that FRS would repeatedly delete a file or directory. Several
questions:

1) What process did you follow to fix replications?
2) Does the directory get deleted on both FS1 and FS2 when you attempt to
replicate it?
3) Does this deletion occur whether you initially copy/move it into FS1 or
FS2?
4) Are you able to create and replicate other new files or directories w/o
any problems?
5) Are there any errors in FRS area of the eventlog?

You may want to take a look at either SONAR or Ultrasound for FRS
monitoring. The SONAR download package contains an informative FRS
troubleshooting document too. Download locations are:

To fix the problem we had, we called Microsft and had them
help us thru it. I was not part of that, so I dont know
the exact procedure used.

The answer to question 2-4 are yes. For question 3, it
happens no matter where we try to copy the files.
And there are no errors in the log.

We seem to be ok now though. I dont know what we really
did, but it stopped happening now.
