Hi

I 'm experiencing frozen start bar a lot even though I can Alt+Tab between
applications and use the applications.Start menu suddenly pops -up after
couple of minutes after i tried to access it.Please someone tell me what
might be going on?

I have tried this on clean workstation and with new profile. This still
happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Start bar" - Do you mean the Start menu (that appears when you click
the Start button) or do you mean the Taskbar (that runs along the bottom
of your monitor)?

I mean 'start button'.As I have mentioned,I can still switch between open
applications by using Alt+Tab.In between working on any of the
applications, start menu pops up(a long time after I clicked the start
button).I have a decent RAM on my machine(Gig of RAM) and I'm constantly
monitoring machine performance in Task Manager. There's no heavy load at all.

Thanks,

I mean 'start button' and the behaviour of start menu as such.As I have
mentioned,I can ALt+tab between open applications in between the delay of
opening of start menu.Start button kind of freezes before it brings up the
start menu
after a long time.I'm good on memory(Gig of RAM) an no heavy load on
processor as well.

Open Task Manager and park it in a corner of your monitor. When you
click the Start button see what process is occupying the majority of the
CPU.

Tip: Open Task Manager to the Processes tab and order the Processes in
descending order of CPU usage.

I just want to confirm that it's the start button and the taskbar that
freezes. There will be half-a-dozen application open, none of which I can click
on the taskbar.BUT,I can use the applictions by ALt-Tab.I have the taskbar
open all the time with the processes arranged in the order of descending CPU
usage.I have noticed system idle process occupying majority of the
CPU(95-99),with around 2% CPU usage and very less network activity.
