What format is your finished movie file - WMV? Try saving the movie to
DV-AVI format instead and see if playback works. To do this, in the Movie
Settings page, click on the Show More Choices link, pick Other Settings, and
pick DV-AVI from the list of formats. If you can play this file in Media
Player, import it back into Movie Maker, drag it to the timeline and save
the movie as WMV.
Note: the DV-AVI file can be quite large - remember to delete it once you
are done with it.
