Frozen Desktop

After downloading cannot get desktop icons to work nor
can I get into control panel and uninstall software.
Most annoying. Any suggestions?

I would recommend restarting in safe mode and uninstall Microsoft
AntiSpyware then download the latest build of the product, released
6/24/2005:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A2-6A57-4C57-A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en

The possible reason why you might not be able to do system restore, is
because you are not logged on to the machine as an Administrator.
