Hello just had an idea today,

Can computers be put in the freezer?

I thought sod paying all that money for Chilling systems when i can
get an old freezer!!! i have tried dangling the cables in the door
(not connected!) and they don't seem to affect the temp (too much) is
there a moistue problem? My freezer is frost free (AND i can store
beer 'in' the computer!!!!)

This sounds like putting a 400 watt heater inside a freezer. I wonder
which will win?

I think the problem is moisture on the electronics if it's a defrosting
type. Defrosting units have built-in heaters to defrost and that moisture
can do some damage to electronics and even corrode connections. If it
isn't, then you'll have to defrost regularly, as surely moisture will work
it's way in there and build up quite a bit of ice.

Thank you for your reply, I put some cables in the door (to simulate)
and indeed moisture was built up, shame 'cos the temp was okay
