FrontPage2002 Template Help

T

Tina

I have created a FrontPage2002 template that I would like
to share with my colleagues over a network. I would like
it to show when they click on File, New, Page. It works
for me as I saved file type as 'FrontPage Template' and it
copied to my local drive. I then copied the html template
and placed it in the directory that I normally place my
Office Suite Templates (J:\OfficeTemplates) which makes
templates visible to all, (everyone has the file Locations
set to this directory). However no one can view this
FrontPage Template. I would be so very grateful if
someone knows how to achieve this and would share with
me. Thank you.

FP Templates belong in each users global templates folder
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033 folder

Or in their personal USER templates folder
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage

(as a folder in the appropriate template type)

Not sure if it will work - use caution w/ any registry edits
But you could try changing the KEY in the registry at
HKEY_USERS\<USERID>\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Common\General
For Shared Templates From
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\DocLibs\
to your network path

| Yes, thanks I realise that the templates are held on
| c:\drives, but I want to find a way of picking up on a
| network, otherwise I am going to have to connect to each
| PC to copy over the template, if I make amends to it, it
| will create a lot of additional work. Any ideas how I can
| amend the template folder location to a network path?
|
| Thanks for replying.
