FrontPage XP Importing Problem...

I had a Hard Drive that went down last week and had to put
everything back onto my new hard drive. I installed my
saved copy of my webpages and when I went to import the
rest of the updated webpages onto my hard drive, it seemed
fine. Then, I was taking off all the duplicated parts of
each page (it seems to duplicate about 3 inches of each
page), and when I got to about the 4th page of deleting off
the top of the page, it blanked out the whole FrontPage
program on my desktop. I have deleted everything and
reinstalled FrontPage XP and FTP'd the website back onto
my hard drive and again, it did the same thing. I did this
many different ways and still came up with, when I hit the
cursor onto a page, it blanks the whole FP XP program off
my desktop and I have to start all over again. The way
this reacts it sounds like a bug in the program. Can
anyone help me with this problem?
Kim

Have you gone the the Microsoft site
and downloaded and installed all of the
service packs and updates??

Hi Steve,
No, because I don't want MS Outlook, Outlook Express or
Internet Explorer to be added onto my hard drive and I know
that each service pack has those items on there. I did
take a look on MS website and most of the Service Packs are
Security Patches and not really for FrontPage XP.
Kim

The SPs do not add Outlook or Outlook Express and FP requires portions of IE
to be installed viewing and publishing.

The Office XP SPs, will only update Office 2002 applications that have
already been installed, it will not install any other Office apps.

Hi Thomas,
Okay, I'll go ahead and install that Service Pack 2 for
Office XP. Thank you.
Kim

Hi Thomas,
I have tryed over and over different ways of trying to
install the Office XP SP1 and the error that I get says,
Error 1328.
Error applying patch to file D:\Config.MSi\PTC7.tmp.
It has probably been updated by other means, and can no
longer be modified by this patch. For more information
contact your patch vender.
So, what does this mean and how can I get the SP 1 & 2 put
onto my hard drive, if I keep coming up with this problem?
Kim

Kim,

Unless someone else has additional ideas, I would recommend that you contact
MS Product Support.

Here is a MS KB referencing another error #, that also happens when
attempting to install Office XP SP1:

Stefan,

How did you find the first KB below, as I searched by Error 1328

Search all products for: 1328
(set 150 articles and Full text options)

If the keywords are not correct that will usually find the error, (plus a lot more useless info)
