I have Frontpage 2002. The program will no longer ask for a password to let
me in. The server is fine, I'm told. How do I repair it so it will again
ask for a password to let me in?

Close FrontPage, then open My Network Places and delete any entries that
point to the password-protected site.

If this is the server on your host site try the following: Open the web
site. Select a file and make a change (any change, could just be placing a
space somewhere) and save the file. Now close the file and then look at the
Folder View for the site. It should tell you who last modified the file. If
the username is not yours then there's a problem. Usually if it's not asking
for a password it's because the anonymous user has too high a permission
level. On an NT system this would be listed as the IUSR account. If the IUSR
account shows up under the modified column then the IUSR account has been
granted write permissions to your site and it's now open game for almost
everyone. If this is the case there is nothing you can do as the permissions
will probably have to be adjusted by the web host.

Hope this helps,
