FrontPage Save Results Component Appearing

Thomas A. Rowe

Did you create the forms directly on the server or locally and then publish
them to the server via FP's http mode?

Arlene,

Like Thomas said previously, the first form looks ok.

The working form is set to email and file.

Your exit survey forms look to be all set to Send to other:
This would be used for a script or custom form handler.

Since the first form works, it looks like the extensions
are in order.

If you change the form properties for the exit surveys to
Send to: with email and file, at the top like you did the
others, and republish, they should start working as well.

After republishing, you may need to refresh the browser a
number of times or empty your browser cache, in order to
see the newly published page.

Sorry--go to the link for any of the Exit Surveys--for example, Exit Survey,
Amy Ho. I think you were looking at the Suggestions Survey.

This started happening after I created a new directory and dragged the forms
from the root into the new directory. The odd thing is that it's not a
problem on all, forms--just the exit forms. I publish using the regular FP
publish feature--I guess that's what you mean by http mode. It wasn't ftp.

Sound like you moved the files outside of FP or didn't have a web open.

The exit forms were already seet to send to email and file. I discovered the
problem is that when I created a new directory named Survey and dragged the
exit surveys into it, the path to save the form results also changed and
became incorrect. It pointed to
Survey/_private/form_results.htm instead of

_private/form_results.csv. For some reason, FrontPage incorrectly added the
Survey directory at the start of the path and changed the extension from csv
to htm. I'm not sure why, but when I corrected the path, the words
[FrontPage Save Results Component] then were no longer visible at the top of
the form. Thanks for your help. It at least pointed me in the right
direction.

Hi, Thomas--no, I moved everything within FrontPage. Maybe it's a flaw in
the software. I've noticed on any form it's always best to plan first in
every aspect and avoid moving the form.

I have never had a problem with move (dragging) the form to a different
location with in the web, however doing a cut/paste will not always update
the form action tag.

That's a good point and it might be that I did a cut/paste--just can't
remember. Thanks for the heads up.
