I have just gotten a new Gateway 7310s computer. I installed Office 2000 and
it said that it was sucessful but everytime I try to use FrontPage, it open
the program and immediately tells me it "has encounted a problem and needs to
close". I use this program a lot and need to have it working. Please help.
Thanks

Is the FP that was installed the same version as the rest of Office? I ask
because so few versions of Office ever came with FP that many times a user
may install Office 2000, then install FrontPage 2002 together. All office
applications share certain features and, if you install the optional
features for two items of different versions (Offiec 2000 and FP 2002 for
example) the shared components become confused and cause errors similar to
this.

Hope this helps,

The versions are the same. Both are 2000.
Thanks for replying. I have used this software on my old computer without
problems, but it died so I had to get a new computer. Now I am desperate to
get it working right.

Have you tried un-installing and then re-installing FP2000, and then apply all updates?
