FrontPage Open Site Dialog Defaults to My Network Places. This takes a real
long time to loadup. Is there any way to change the default to point to the
desktop or something local so it doesn't take so long?

Is this when you start FrontPage, or when you click File > Open Web??

If it is when FrontPage starts, go here http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm

Download the FP Cleaner utility and run the "Change the "Open Last Web" Setting"
feature

Steve, thats a good tip. Its when I click File -> Open Site. You get the
common open dialog box, and by default its My Network Places... A tempory
solution is to clear my network places, however this just fills back up
again, and still it has to hit a couple network places before allowing me to
type in the site...

Close FrontPage.
Click Start > Run and type regedit and click OK

Click plus signs until you are here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\FrontPage\Explorer\FrontPage Explorer\Settings

Click once on the settings key.
In the right hand panel, right click the value name: DefaultWebName and then click modify.
In the popup, clear the Value data: ( highlight and backspace )

Click Ok, close Regedit and restart FrontPage.

Steve-

Thanks for the quick reply, however that wasn't it. It still opens to the
My Network Places.

Go to the same place in the registry and clear the Value Data for: LastWebOpen

When you're through with FrontPage for the time being or for the day, just
before you shut down FP, open the default web site in C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Web Sites and then close it. The next time
you launch FP, it will open to My Documents instead of My Network Places.
