Are there any limits to how many pages FrontPage can manage?
If so, how do you know how many pages are in your current website?

Theoretically no. But iirc the maximum number of files that can be displayed in one
directory in Windows is 9,999

On the toolbar, View > Reports > site summary.

Hi,

Yes, please look at the site summary for the page volume.

For the 1st question, as I know there isn't a hard-coded limit on the
page volume. However there will be performance issue on the treeview
if the volume is too large in the web.

Thanks.

Just an additonal note to keep in mind:

In the finite computer world, everything has limits. If nothing else, limits
are determined by the capacity of memory, hard drive, processor, and/or
network environment. Of course, that makes for a large range of limits.

Right, I understand all that.
My system is quite capable of handling just about everything.
My issue may have more to do with my server being slow on certain days. That
prompted the original question. The other issue is this:

It takes a long time for FrontPage to compare what's on my computer as
compared to what's on the server. After the comparison is made, then the
transfer begins. The transfer is quite fast. The comparison takes a long
time.

Front page needs to develop a way to constantly keep track of what changes
so that it does not have to compare everything each time you make an update
(just a thought).

Thanks

How fast is your internet connection in both directions, as this will have a bearing on the amount
of time the compare function takes.

Example, my connection speed is 7 MB down and 800 KB up.

FP does keep track of changes, have you tried the other options when publishing Change Pages Only?

FrontPage has no way of knowing who else might have changed the remote
files, or if you perhaps may have changed them from another computer.
Therefore, to be safe, it checks them all.

My DSL is 15/2.5mb (up/down), therefore it is quite fast.
The comparison is still quite slow.
I already have it set to "changed pages only".

I don't have this issue all the time, therefore, it must of been Server
Issues.
However, the comparison part still seems very slow.

Your Right! Good point!
