FrontPage hidden/private web

I run the school website and have a limited knowledge of webdesign. The
school wants an area where the parents can log in. Tried to 'convert to web'
on a folder but i am asked for a username and password that i do not have and
is not the same as my authoring one. what can i do? What other options do i
have?

Open FrontPage, click on F1 (Help) and search for subsite. There should be a
couple of responses. 1. Create a subsite, and 2. About restricting access to
a Web site.
