I have a website that uses FP form properties. I maintain the web on my pc,
then upload any updates to the server, using FP publish. When I initially
created the form, I opened the server-based web in FP and edited the form
properties, to add email address delivery, confirmation page referral, etc.
I recently updated this page and uploaded it to the server. This overwrote
my form properties, setting them back to the default. Is there any good way
to include these properties in my pc-based web files, so that they are not
overwritten when I upload page updates? Thanks for your help.

If you make changes on the live/remote server, then you should always publish a copy back to your
local.

Thomas - Thanks for your response. When I publish back from the server to my
pc, I pick up a ton of extraneous baggage I don't want or need - log files,
stats files, etc. If I publish back to a different folder, is there any way
to then move just the page that contains the FP form to my original pc web
files? Will import work in this situation, or perhaps another approach?
Thanks again,
JW

Check with your web host to see if the log files, stats, etc. can be put into a FP subweb / subsite,
then you would never select to include them.

You can transfer individual files - just select the file, and click the left
pointingt arrow to transfer it to the local PC

However that will not upload any associated files or update FP hidden files for the web site.

OK, I give up, where/what is the left pointing arrow. I can't find anything
like that on any of my toolbars. As info, I'm running FP2000. What happens
if I just open an FTP client and download the file to the folder on my pc
that contains this web page? Thanks for all the help.

FP2000 does not support publishing individual files - this was a new
feature in FP2002.
As Thomas said, convert the stats and logs folders into subwebs then it
will not be published down if you publish the entire web site.

You can use an FTP client to download an individual file if you are VERY
careful: do NOT download a complete folder (only download individual
files), do NOT even think about downloading any files in a folder with a
name starting with _vti_ - this will corrupt the extensions or meta data
on the server or on your own PC.

When the file is downloaded, open the local website in FrontPage and
run Tools->Recalculate Hyperlinks to update the meta data locally.
