Hi

I have a clients server which has Frontpage Extensions enabled hence I
can not upload files via FTP. Could I upload the files via Frontpage
or would I have to turn the extensions off before I can upload any
files by any means?

Regards

Lawrence

You need to use FP to upload.

You can not turn off the extensions, you would have to uninstalled them, which depending on what
features/functions the client has configured via the extensions, such as permissions, etc., will be
lost.

Oh ok, I am basically modifying a clients webpage that has been
created in FP and uses ASP and connects to a database etc. I have
modified the webpages with ASP but can not get it to connect to the
database (access by the looks of it) so I was going to try to upload
the modified files to the clients server (with which the current
website works fine with the database) and hopefully see it connect. Im
not sure if FP extensions would have anything to say about it
though :P

Regards

It depends if FP was used to create/manage the database connection which uses the global.asa file.
The FP extensions manage the permissions on the fpdb folder and database file, as we as the
permissions on the web folder to allow the asp application to run.
