Do i need frontpage extensions on my webserver if I do not use frontpage?
Does VS.NET 2003 use them in anyway?

There are some security issues with having the extensions installed and if i
do not need them would like to remove them from the server.

I use VS.NET 2003 as my development environment and Windows 2003 standard
server as my web server OS.

THanks,

NO

It is one method of contacting the server to update projects. It is not the
only way, as you can litererally FTP project files. If you desire to use the
Copy Project features of VS.NET, FrontPage is the easiest; it is not the
only way.

Yes, you are correct. There are some security issues and I would not install
them if you are not using FrontPage. NOTE: You also should not have Office
and Visual Studio .NET installed on a production machine, just the .NET
Redistributable.

Windows 2003 comes with the redistributable, so you can can the FP
extensions without problem.
