Hi there,

I've just rebuild by desktop and reloaded FP2003. Problem now is after the
rebuild, I can no loger open up pages to edit using \\hostsname\site\page.xxx
- FP will now only let me open up the pages using the directory structure
i.e. c:\website\sitename

I've just spent the last 2 days trying to figure out where I've gone wrong
and still haven't go anywhere.......please please please help......b4 i pull
a pistol out and shoot my pc.....:-(

Many thanks in advance.....

What OS?
A new machine? What do you mean by; rebuild?

If you want to open your site live on the remote server, and it is FPSE
enabled, you would enter http://www.yourwebname.xxx (or whatever variation
of that your host requires)

If you want to open your local web/site and you're using IIS on your local
machine you'd open that by http://localhost/whateveryouryoucallyoursite

If you're not using a server on your local machine and want to open your
disk-based web you'd open it by: C:...\whereveryoustoreyourwebs\yourwebname

Hi there,

It's not a new machine, I rebuild it by reloading XP pro from scratch. I've
also got IIS loaded on the local machine.

Looking thru the IIS setup, the FP extentions were missing, but I've now
loaded FP Extentions 2002 and the error message I get now is the following:

"The server could not complete your request. Contact the Internet Service
Provider or the Web server adminstrator to make sure the server has FP Server
Extesions or SharePoint Services Installed."

When I fire up the IIS admin module and run the "Check Front Page Server
Extensions 2002" - it doesn't report any problems".

Many thanks for your help in advance.
