I know I am in the dark here trying to find someone to help me with a problem
using this old software. For some odd reason when I added new hyperlinks on
the side bar they will not publish. Also the hyperlinks on pages are no
longer the blue. This just happened a few days ago and I haven't been able to
figure it out. Untill taxes get here I am stuck still using this version. Can
anyone help?

What side bar? What color are the hyperlinks? Did you change the link
color in Background Properties or add a CSS style to the page recently? Is
there a URL where we can see the color change?

Thanks for responding, I didn't think anyone would since it's the 98 verion.
It is a column that I use for other information aside from the main text area
which is in the middle. http://www.weightlossvariety.com

For two days the hyperlinks were blue and then stayed purple when I first
sent the help. After a few days most of the Blue is back. I added the text,
BIG Party Sale!, below the other and that is when it happened.

Now the Big Party Sale text and it's hyperlink does not show up on 2 pages,
the eurofirm and the complete 7.

On the BIG Party Sale page, the click here hyperlinks are purple too. There
is a picture that I can not get to show up.

Plus the changes I did to center the "Order Eurobotanical Products Here" is
not centered.

All the pages look fine in my FrontPage after publishing however when I go
and type the URL in the browser for some reason it's not publishing those
changes.

The background hyperlink is set to blue and I change it to be the default
but it didn't make any difference.

I think there is a css but not sure as I had a webmaster start me out with a
new website look and he did about 6 pages. He made the website using FTP
editor with plain html code, he said. I added the rest myself using the
template he sent. I think I saw a CSS style to the page somewhere in the html.

I just know enough html to get around - more than I did when I first had to
start with frontpage 98 6 years ago. I don't know the css style or the other
styles, kinda stuck with the WYSIWYG for now.

One more thing, when I put the url in the browser and click on the links to
view pages they stay purple not blue. Even when I view the URL 2 hours later
they are still purple. I would think viewing via the interent the links will
turn back to blue.

I know this is long but I tried to get it all in at one time. I hope you can
shed some light on this. Have a Blessed Day!

After fooling around with the 3 pages yesterday (Tues.) trying to get the
hyperlinks to show up and published them - I didn't seem to of have any luck.

However the first thing I did this morning (Wed.) was put the url in for the
website and check to see if anything new happened with the links.

Now all the links are blue and even the text that would not show up is on
the 3 pages. But for some odd reason the first SALE link is out of place on
all website pages. I did not mess with any other pages. Do you think someone
is yanking my chains with the html code? I don't have a code for blocking
anyone from my html codes.

I have not had problems with FrontPage 98 like this since I have been using
it, now 6 years. Is there any reasonable explaination for all of this
mysterious actions that has been going on with Frontpage 98?

The reason the links are purple is because you have the visited link color
set to that in your BODY Tag:

<body background="images/beigebg.jpg" bgcolor="#FEDEC1" text="#5A7C5A"
link="#0000FF" vlink="#800080" alink="#FF0000" marginwidth="0"
marginheight="0" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0">

The numbers above mean:
Background is a Pink color
Text is a Green color
Hyperlinks are Blue
Visited hyperlinks are Purple
Active Hyperlinks are Red

To change those colors you need to go to background properties and change
them (or you can go to HTML View and manually change them). It's been a
while since I've used FP98 so I don't know the exact menu name.

The reason that some of the purple links have changed back to blue is based
on your browser history settings. The links stay purple (to show that
you've visited them) until they expire. Go to Internet Explorer and choose
Tools, Internet Options and look at the number for Days to keep pages in
history. After that number (example 1 day) the links go back to unvisited.
This would be different on every person's PC so some people may still see
purple links and some may see all blue.

On the Big Party Sale, I do see the link on all pages (Euro-Form and
Complete 7 too) so I'm not sure what you mean about that. If you don't try
deleting your browser temporary files.

The links on the Big Party Sale are purple for the same reason I mentioned
above. The image on that page (images/BlondLocks.jpg) isn't showing up
because it's not on the web site. You can check this by going to
http://www.weightlossvariety.com/images/BlondLocks.jpg You need to publish
the image to the web site

Daivd,

Thanks for your reply. I don't know why I am having so much odd things going
on. I knew the link colors but didn't understand why the visited purple link
would not change back to Blue.

Now you I know about the browser, however I always have the history pages
set at 0. I just assumed after clicking on a link and then going to another
page it would be blue when you clicked back to that page. I guess there's
nothing I can do about the links not turning back to purple until the next
day.

Some of them are purple when I make them and but then the next day or two
they are blue and that's with me not clicking on them. So I don't know if the
link color is correct or not at the time of making it.

I made the click here links and didn't click on them so they should not be
purple. That is how I noticed them not being blue, so I undo the text and
redo it and the hyperlink to see if I can get it blue. Sometimes it works but
sometimes it does not. I checked the html and I don't see anything unusual in
the code.

I previously published the blond pic. several times. I would take it off and
reinsert it and publish it. It still would not show up. I couldn't think of
anything else to do so I deleted it on the page and in the image folder. I
transfered the blonde.jpg again to the image file and reinserted it on the
page and published it, finally it worked. It must of been a bad transfer.

I am afraid of messing with it too much since all of this has been going on.
Untill recently the pages in frontpage were all in the right porportion. I
would put in text and it stayed within it's border and went to the next line.
Now the border has widened and I have to use the scroll to see what I have
written.

But when I preview the page it looks right and on the internet it looks
right. Do you think its my browser that won't allow the template to stay the
same size?

The links being purple when made and the widening of the pages is the only
two things left to fix before it all gets out of control. I never did have
these problems in 6 years of using frontpage. I might mention that I was
using my own computer which was windows 98. Now I am using my daugthers,
windows home edition 2002 XP. Can you please help with these last two things?
I appreicate it alot for you taking the time to help me with such an old
version. Have a Blessed Day.

Pam
