I have created a document (*.htm) and have placed a couple of images. When I
save the page to my desktop (this is not goign to be a web page, but I need
it saved at an htm page), the images are not there after I delete them from
my desktop.

How do I get the image to be embedded in the page?

Thanks

How do I get the image to be embedded in the page?

You don't. An HTML document is a pure text document, which cannot contain
embedded anything. The way images are displayed in a browser is via the URLs
(Uniform Resource Locators) in the HTML markup, which point to the file
location of the images. An HTML image tag looks something like the following
(use Code view to see the HTML):

<img src="file://C:/Documents and
Settings/kspencer/My%20Documents/My%20Pictures/myImage.jpg">

So, if you don't want the images on your desktop, put them somewhere else,
but don't delete them.

There's no images in it when displayed in my browser, only image place
holders.

The page is looking for the images at:
<IMG src="VMTexas User Group Invitation_files

html does "not" embed images.

See attached. This is an *.htm document and it has several images embedded
in it. So how did they do this?

I saw it. In NotePad. See below.

Dude, I told you it was a pure text document. I told you you could see the
HTML in Code view in FrontPage. And I told you how the HTML references
images, and showed you an example. If you do not listen, I am wasting my
time.

Hi Todd

Web pages don't work like Word documents, the image doesn't embed itself
onto the page....so you need to create a folder for the web page and when you
save the images make sure the images are in the folder together with the
page....then it will work.

Good luck
