Frontpage 2003 won't load

Upon re-installing Frontpage 2003, the program will not load. I receive a
message "Load Failed - unable to access configuration for Microsoft personal
web server" I've tried to load Frontpage 2000 also and the same thing
happens. I've attempted to reinstall several times. I recently had to
reinstall windows XP Pro and completed the Internet Explorer 7 update. I
can't track down the personal web server issue and the impact by the new
installs.

The installation order should be:

Install IIS and the FP server extensions. (Control Panel, Add Remove
Programs, Windows Components)
Install FrontPage (custom without a PWS)

David: I tried your suggestion and I still get the same message. I'm not
really sure what to exclude in the custom install of Frontpage 2003 to
eliminate PWS as there is nothing specifically identified as Personal Web
Server. I've tried several different options and I get the same result.
Will it work if I just delete the fpsrvutl.dll file it is referring to?

FP 2000 and up do not come with a Personal Web Server (PWS)

Okay, that's great! So why then do I get the message "Load Failed - Unable
to access configuration for Microsoft Personal Web Server". FrontPage will
not start. This is the message. What's up with the PWS message if Frontpage
from 2000 on doesn't use PWS? Please tell me how to get Frontpage 2003
working again. Thanks

Sound like you have installed FP98 with the PWS at some point.

I've never owned Frontpage 98 and still not getting answers on how to fix it.
How do I remove the PWS, which apparently is causing the problem. I need to
get this fixed so I can get into the website I maintain for a nonprofit high
school cheer team. Please help!

Some how you have PWS installed or a reference to PWS in your Registry on your PC. Suggest you
contact MS Product Support if you are still having this problem.
