I just upgraded from Frontpage 2000 to Frontpage 2003 and now have a major
problem. I ftped a few pages from my site (it's set to use FTP only) to my
local computer and updated them in FP 2003 and now they cannot be accessed
access on the web using a browser (a dialogue box appears asking for a
username and password), and also I cannot FTP them back to or from the site.
Yikes! What's going on and how can I fix it? Many thanks.

Cheers, Pat

Contact your Provider and have them set correct permissions on your
online Web site.

you have to log on to your server to reupload the files?....use the password
and username details of your hosting account.

Can you provide the URL so we can see if it's just you, or a wider problem?

Thanks, Jens and Andrew,

For interest, the problems were resolved as follows:
1. When I started using Frontpage 2003, it seems the ISP had to turn on
Frontpage extensions (they were off as the setings required using just FTP
and this worked fine with Frontpage 2000) Turning on extensions allowed users
to access the pages on the web.

2. However, even after this probelm was fixed, I could not make changes in
real time by opening the site with Frontpage. After typing the username and
PW, the log-in box kept repeating with the PW blank. The ISP had to fix an
extension problem at their end (have no idea what they did but it's fixed).

Thanks again for taking the time to help.

Cheers, Pat
