Hi Folks - I need a little help with an Include Page problem. I designed a
site with include pages. The web server hosting the site recently dropped FP
Extensions. Amazingly, the Include pages continued to function properly.
Now, here's the kicker. Seems you cannot update the Includes without
Extensions installed. Any ideas or workarounds. Thanks.

Michael

Download the website to a folder on your PC using an FTP application,
then open the folder in FrontPage and allow FP to convert the folder
to a website.
You should be able to edit the includes locally, the FTP back to the
internet.

IMO, look for a new host.

Ron - I already performed those steps using Dreamweaver. No luck ... Does
using FP to edit the include make a difference?

Michael

FP Includes must be maintained by FP.

When FrontPage creates (or converts a folder into) a web it installs a
disc-based version of the extensions. Extensions (either disc-based
or server) must be used to edit FrontPage features, such as includes.

At that point, if the only critical thing affected was the includes,
you can use FTP to load the site. I upload by FTP and use includes and
have no problem.

However if you just upload the included pages via FTP then the pages using the included content will
not be updated.
